Live From The Underground- G4shi (PT. 2)

G4shi boasts that he "picks the best samples in the world" and the eclectic sonic backdrops to his verbose lyricism helps to support that notion. G4shi describes Smokie Morrison, whom produced "You Want It" off 4 Play as "the Dr. Dre of Canada" and explains how his process of beat selection is more about feeling than it is about the technicalities of production:

I'll listen to it in my car. If it feels good driving and watching the New York City skyline and makes me feel like I'm in a movie or makes me feel amazing inside is how I pick it. it's got to make me feel a certain type of way. The beat has got to make me want to write. If it doesn't make me want to write, I don't want to use it. That's how I pick my production.
