Parents can be overbearing, especially when their legacy is so great their offsprings are forever associated. In this part of Whispers and Chris Rivers' Live From The Underground interview, Rivers explains how he is no longer nervous about living up to the lofty standards of his late great father Big Pun, because of one fact: He's Chris Rivers, nigga:
I was like 17, 18 and still figuring out who I was as an artist and as a person. Before I was like 'Oh my god, I got to be so dope, because they're going to compare me to my father.' Now I'm just like 'I'm Chris Rivers, nigga.' I'm not cocky, but I know what I can do. I'm confident. At the same time, you're going to love me for me. I'm going to do what I do. I'm not nervous about it.
