Every year we celebrate our birthdays in ways to showcase our growth, success, and/or our current situation. Well, when it comes to Hot 97's own Peter Rosenberg, it's starting to become a tradition that when his birthday comes around "good ol' hip hop" is not far behind. Last year, Rosenberg gave New York a show consisting of acts such as Meek Mill, Odd Future, and School Boy Q. In 2014 Rosenberg held no punches and collected 90% of the hottest up and comers in the game right now and celebrated his B-day in true hip hop fashion.
First and foremost, the TDE camp might be the most talked about faction in hip hop right now but did that stop Peter from booking not one but 2 of the 4 top stars in the camp? NO! Schoolboy Q returned again to close the show but the ever so lyrical Ab-Soul also performed tracks off his critically acclaimed "These Days" LP and fans could not get enough of it. Add Detroit's own Danny Brown and special acts such as Vic Mensa, Joell Ortiz, G-Eazy and Chris Rivers you got a show you do not want to miss. In part 1 of our recap we show you a glimpse of what happened at the Best Buy theater on the night of July 23rd 2014.
